Coach Burns brings 7 years of college coaching experience from Rockford University, where she led the women’s program for the last 3 seasons. Her energy, leadership, and passion for the game will be a huge asset to our athletes.

📢 Sports Announcement: Celebrating Our Track Stars! 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️ We are thrilled to recognize the outstanding achievements of our Jefferson High School track and field athletes! 🌟 NIC-10 1st Team All-Conference: - Janardie Turner 👏 NIC-10 Special Mentions: - Darion Dickens - Innocent Mairo - Naomi Cultra 🌟 2025 IHSA 3A State Meet: A special shoutout goes to our sophomore sensation Janardie Turner, who made an incredible impact at the IHSA State Finals on May 31, 2025! Janardie set a new school record in the 110-meter hurdles, finishing 3rd with a blazing time of 13.94 seconds—a personal best and a historic moment for Jefferson High School. Janardie is also ranked 95th in the nation for 110 hurdles. Janardie also competed fiercely in the 300-meter hurdles, finishing 6th in the state with a personal best of 39.09 seconds. Though the school record for this event remains at 38.9 seconds since 1981, Janardie's performance cements his status as one of the state’s top athletes—and with many years ahead, his future is incredibly bright! Please join us in congratulating Darion, Innocent, Naomi, and especially Janardie Turner for their hard work, dedication, and remarkable success this season. Jefferson High is proud of you all!
