The Jefferson J-Hawks showed flashes of offensive firepower Friday night at Swanson Stadium, but Belvidere North’s consistency proved too much as the visitors pulled away for a 36–12 victory.
Quarterback Jaden Williams led the way for Jefferson, throwing for 180 yards and two touchdowns while also adding 52 yards on the ground. Both of his scoring strikes found Janardie Turner, who turned in a breakout performance with 124 receiving yards and two touchdowns, including a 56-yard bomb in the first half and a highlight-reel catch-and-run on a swing pass in the second quarter.
On the ground, the J-Hawks spread the workload. De’Anglos Roby picked up 41 rushing yards, while Alejandro Almonaci chipped in 45 yards as Jefferson battled to move the chains.
After trailing 21–12 at halftime, Jefferson entered the second half within striking distance, but Belvidere North controlled the clock with extended drives and capitalized on opportunities, steadily pulling away.
Despite the setback, the J-Hawks flashed big-play potential and resilience, with Williams and Turner showing strong chemistry that could spark the offense in weeks ahead.
Jefferson returns to action next week looking to bounce back and continue building momentum in NIC-10 play.
