🏆 J-Hawks Open Chess Season at Freeport
Freeport, IL — The Jefferson J-Hawks kicked off their 2025 chess season on the road at Freeport with two hard-fought matches. Despite dropping both contests by narrow margins, the team showed strong early-season form.
Jefferson fell to Sterling, 26–42, and Rock Falls, 20–48, with both matches decided by just one or two boards. Head Coach [insert name if available] praised the team’s focus and competitive energy, noting several bright performances that kept each match close until the end.
The J-Hawks return to action later this month looking to turn those tight losses into early wins.
